The temple about which,I am going to tell you here, has an ancient importance, and it's known to very few people.Allahabad is also known as the Prayagraj, which is the king of all holy places in the world.The famous Kumbh Mela held time to time, which attracts millions of people from all part of the world.
Every year in the month of January, Magh Mela is held in Allahabad.The Sangam of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Sarswati has great importance on these Melas(Fairs).It is believed that taking bath on this occasion, one will get Moksha(Heaven).
There is a Great Temple of Lord Shiv in Allahabad at Pandila Mahadev ji near Phaphamau.It is approx 15 KM from Sangam.The Shiv-Ling, in this temple, belong to time when the Pandavs( Arjun, Bheem Nakul, Sahade, Yudhisthir) were going to Laksha Grih.
On the way they found a Shiv-Ling. The tried to pull it out, but they failed. They worshiped Lord Shiv at that place. Now this place is Known as Pandeshwar Nath Dham (Pandila Mahadev ji).
Every year, on the eve of Maha Shiv Ratri, there is a huge 3 day fair here in Pandila. And after every 3 year one month mela is held here also known as Malmass Mela. People from different part of country come on this occasion and stay for one month. There are number of Dharmshalas(Inn) which provide good lodging facility to all the outsiders free of cost. The people around this temple are very help full.
If you come to Allahabad and you miss this temple you have miss the beauty of Allahabad. There is an airstrip near the temple. A large Statue of Lord Ganesh ji (Son of Lord Shivji) is there.It's a very nice place specially in summers.
